Another frosty day

Sunday 31st Jan 2010.
The day was too good to miss,a northerly wind and a hard frost, our usual party of eight set off  from a small village called Wycoller.only a few miles from where we live.Wycoller is an old village dating back several hundred years. There are two interesting buildings at the end of the village one being Wycoller hall which is said to be Ferndean Manor in Charlotte Brontes "Jane Eyre" (The Bronte sisters only lived a few miles away in Haworth).
The other fine building is the Aisled Barn dating back to the 1630's.There are three well photographed bridges, the Packhorse bridge,Clapper bridge and the 1000 years old Clam bridge.
The walk continued  through the pennine countryside skirting Bouldsworth hill and and finally finishing back in the village.

  1. It looked a gorgeous day,Dad. Last time we were at Wycoller we all had our picture taken on that seat. Youve still got snow hanging around though. Julie x

  2. Hi, interesting pictures of the bridges and of Wycollar Hall. What were you sitting in? It looks like a giant fire place.
